01 · The story
Everyone performs.
World Gymnaestrada is the largest gymnastics event in the world, and there are no medals in it. Twenty thousand people from sixty nations walk into one stadium on the first night, twice the athletes of a Summer Games, to spend a week performing for each other. Ages run from 1 to 100. The disciplines run from gymnastics to dance to circus.
Since 1953 it has never left Europe. Las Vegas 2031 is the first edition for the Americas, and the mark had to say that without borrowing a single Vegas cliché. This page is the system we landed on, with every file your vendors, staff and federation reviewers will need.
-
Celebration, not competition
A gathering built around fitness, friendship, creativity and culture. More opening ceremony than medal podium.
-
A first for the Americas
Seventy-eight years in Europe, then Las Vegas. A milestone for the US and for all of Pan America.
-
Elevated over expected
Edition marks have started to look like one another. This one should feel moody, sophisticated and new, without being unreadable.
-
Vegas energy, not Vegas shorthand
The pull is entertainment, artistry and spectacle. No dice, no neon, no gambling.
-
One city, seven days, many stages
Convention center floors, ceremonies at the new ballpark, Cirque stages, Fremont Street, the monorail, hotel takeovers. It has to read as one family, not a logo pasted onto things.
-
Lisbon 2027 is the first stage
Three hundred delegates trading shirts, jackets and pins with the world. The mark has to survive small, in one color, on fabric.
