My pals at Academic Coffee asked me to design the labels for their canned beverage collection, launching in the summer of 2022. It was an honor to help this wonderful small business in the heart of Downtown San Jose, CA.
The labels bring typography, layout and illustration together: a line of motivation on every can, Academic Coffee’s logo in a customized cut of Kern Club’s Purple Cat, and the details for each drink typeset in various weights of Knockout from Hoefler & Co., which holds up at any size the printer throws at it.
