Custom sneakers, Tretorn Nylite 50, 2017
Tretorn’s iconic Nylite sneaker turned 50, and as part of the celebration I was asked to join a small circle of designers in the brand’s Blank Canvas art event. The brief was a shoe based on what inspires you, so I hand-painted a pair of Nylites with the Facebook poster art I had been making that year.
Tretorn showed all 50 pairs from artists around the planet at an event during Art Basel in December 2017, with the shoes up for auction and every dollar going to an arts education fund. My pair on Tretorn’s site.
